Mechanical Recycling: Profitable Way of Domestic Waste Disposal in Zambia
With the global emphasis on environmental protection and resource reuse, a customer in Zambia decided to invest in plastic recycling equipment to process the household waste he collects. This waste mainly consists of common plastic products such as plastic baskets, plastic washbasins, oil drums and plastic bottles. For efficient recycling and reuse, he chose a complete set of plastic recycling equipment, including a shredder, granulator and conveyor belt.
The customer’s main challenge was to efficiently process waste plastic products of various shapes and sizes and convert them into reusable plastic pellets. These plastic products are mostly made of HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) and need to go through several steps such as cleaning, crushing and pelletizing in order to recycle the resources.
Our Solution for Domestic Waste Disposal in Zambia
In response to the customer’s needs, we designed and supplied a complete plastic recycling line for his household plastic waste, the main equipment includes:
Crusher: Preliminary crushing of collected domestic waste plastic products to reduce their size and facilitate subsequent processing.
Cleaning equipment: to clean the crushed plastic pieces, remove the surface dirt and impurities, to ensure the quality of recycled pellets.
Conveyor belt: connecting each processing link, realizing automatic material conveying and improving production efficiency.
Pelletizer: melt and extrude the cleaned HDPE flakes to make uniform recycled HDPE granules for recycling.
Successful Cooperation
During the installation and commissioning of the equipment, our technical team works closely with the customer to ensure the normal operation of each piece of equipment. At the same time, we provide comprehensive training to the customer’s operators to ensure that they are able to operate the equipment proficiently and carry out routine maintenance.
As a result of this cooperation, the customer has successfully set up a highly efficient plastic recycling line that can process about 500 kilograms of waste plastic per hour. The recycled plastic pellets produced are of excellent quality and can be used to make new plastic products, realizing the recycling of resources. The project not only brings considerable economic benefits to the customer, but also makes positive contributions to local environmental protection.
