What is plastic injection molding waste?

Plastic injection molding waste/extruder scrap/die head waste is a common type of production waste in the plastics processing industry, usually from the mold and head section of a plastic extruder or injection molding machine.

These wastes are mostly high-quality plastics that cannot be used directly due to their irregular shape or lack of conformity to the final product requirements. In order to minimize waste and enhance economic efficiency, these headers are usually recycled.

The process of shredding headstock for recycling

Step1: Sort the headstock according to its material, e.g. polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS) or other types, to avoid mixing of materials that may affect the recycling quality.

Step 2: Plastic trituradoras are used to pulverize the headstock into small particles or flakes. The size of the pulverized material is usually adjusted according to the subsequent processing requirements.

Step 3: If there are oil stains or impurities on the headstock, it can be cleaned by equipo de lavado to ensure that the recycled material is clean and free from contamination, and then dried to remove moisture.
